Converting office lighting into solar is an “about time” idea. CubeTube takes otherwise wasted energy from lighting fixtures and uses it to power computer workstations. This unique looking, indoor photovoltaic electrical generator harvests ambient light, indoor florescent and incandescent lighting from all directions to create electricity. With a back-up internal Lithium Polymer/Ion battery and a smart charging system that monitors charging levels, should ambient lighting not be enough, the system automatically switches back to the battery. If the internal battery fails, the system will switch to the AC power grid.
Available in different sizes, it recharges the batteries through both the photovoltaics and the AC grid, so you’ll never lose power in a blackout! All this will reduce both your carbon footprint and your power bill. No word yet on cost but word is it’s inexpensive, easy to install and will pay for itself in energy savings. Sounds like a winner!
CubeTube, an indoor photovoltaic electrical generator, can power your workstations by using wasted energy from your lighting fixtures. This is accomplished by the unique design specific to indoor florescent, incandescent, and ambient light harvesting. The device simply clips to cubicle walls, or can be placed on desktops or windowsills.
