Just to say that I’m now using DeepNet Explorer as my default browser. Why? Inbuilt highlight and find buttons (a la Google cache to help locate search words quickly), inbuilt multi proxy support with instant on and off, keyword addressing (no need to enter in .com etc) and the fact that it is apparently more secure than IE. Plus the other stuff I’ve mentioned before like inbuilt RSS reader and Gnutella. That’s all!

‘Deepnet Explorer is more secure than IE

IE browser consists of two components, the application shell and a HTML rendering engine. In order to be 100% compatible with IE, Deepnet Explorer uses IEs HTML rendering engine that is the only common component that Deepnet Explorer shares with IE.

Most of security flaws found so far are largely in the IE Application, not in the HTML Engine. Therefore, Deepnet Explorer does not inherit these security flaws from IE.

Deepnet Explorer cannot be hijacked

To protects your browser from being ‘hijacked’ by hackers or unauthorized third parties, Deepnet Explorer is designed not to support IEs browser helper objects (BHO) and browser plug-ins. BHO and Plug-ins can easily be exploited and used by spyware, adware and viruses. As a matter of fact, most spywares are either BHOs or plug-ins. For instance, a recently discovered virus names BankHook.A exists as a BHO.’
