The Dialogue Speaker may look like a boring black box with a speaker inside, but in fact it’s actually a boring black box with a speaker inside. Yep. Oh, sorry, apparently there’s more. Right…oh yeah, the speaker ‘especially accentuates voices’, to help you hear your television set better. Which is nice to know, isn’t it? Because we’d all be lost if we couldn’t catch the drivel from yet another episode of I Was a Desperate Survivor of The Idol Makeover Millionaire show. Anyhoo, $99.95.
Now you can experience TV with a speaker that allows you to actually “turndown” the overall volume and still understand each word. In fact, the speaker is made for the exact frequencies that a TV produces and especially accentuates voices! The Original Dialogue Speaker is as easy to use as it is to set up. Just plug it in to the AC wall socket and connect to the audio outputs of your TV or cable box. Your only decision is where to place it within the room. The speaker comes in a black grain vinyl wood enclosure for vibration-free and distortion-free sound. It also comes with 25′ and 6′ cables, so no additional speaker wires are needed.
I am desperate. There IS some good stuff out there, but unless it's close captioned, I can't understand–e.g. the Inspector Morse series. With age, I can hear the noise, but can't understand the dialogue. Do you think this device might help? Thanks.
Beverly, there is a school of thought that says NO-ONE understands the Inspector Morse series. :-) But more seriously, I have no idea if this works or not, but just make sure there is a formal returns period so you can try it out and see if it works, otherwise return it.
Yes, i've been using one for about two years now and it really helps. We place it close to where we sit so that the TV doesn't have to be loud to begin with and we hear the dialog but very high frequency sounds and very low frequency sounds seem to come from the TV itself.
