Digiloom – this loom makes the best friendship bracelets

Friendship bracelets are one of the time-honored tradition of bored children everywhere. A way to show how much you care for someone while also occupying yourself with something that doesn’t take that long and will keep your fingers busy. So the question is, why in the world do we need the Digiloom? The loom does the work for you.

This is interesting because it seems silly but this is actually a tiny heddle weaving loom. You still have to feed the weft threads but the device handles all the pickups for you. This, for all you non-weavers, means you pull the thread back and forth through the up and down threads. The machine moves the correct up and down threads (the warp) so that it creates a pattern.

It’s actually pretty neat, even if it sounds silly at first. You program the design with an app which gives you a lot of control of what it says. You control the loom by pushing the button to move the heddle (the part that moves the strings). An interesting concept that will be out this summer for $49.99.
