DirecTV puts anti-microbial remotes in hotels

Hotels are grubby and disgusting. You never know what has happened in the room youre staying in, and likely never will. Germ counts would be phenomenal if you actually took time out of your life to pay attention to it. Something that is particularly scary to pick up is the remote. It probably is often passed over by hotel staff because of its size. Though, the thought of someone drooling on it, eating anything and touching it, or even coughing into their hand and picking it up makes me a little queasy.

DirecTV just became awesome for the fact that they are going to start putting anti-microbial remotes into hotel rooms. Although this is part of an initiative to make programming options much better, there is now less to worry about when staying at a hotel. It may not be the biggest deal, but its one less thing on my list of why I hate hotels.
