Ditch iTunes and use Spotify to sync music with your iPod

Love or hate Apple, it’s hard to deny that they have the most popular music players on the market. One of the biggest complaints I tend to hear about them (aside from perhaps the price) is their dependance on iTunes. You can’t do much with your iPod if you don’t have Apple’s music software installed. However, it looks like that is changing, thanks to Spotify.

The music streaming service has updated their software to include the ability to sync with your iPod. This means you can take your existing music library from your computer and transfer it to your iPhone, iPod Touch, Classic, Shuffle and Nano. Since you’re using Spotify’s own program, this also means that it will bring over all of your current playlists, which you couldn’t do without painfully recreating them in iTunes. What’s more, this new software has a feature that Apple has yet to include in their own. You can actually sync your library via WiFi, letting you ditch the USB cable entirely (except for charging, of course).
