DIY USB Tetris Lamp – relive the 80s and pander to your block dropping devotion

C’mon, who didn’t love-hate the old Tetris game classic? All those totally annoying little blocks dropping down at increasingly difficult speed. Pah. We could have beat it if we’d have tried hard enough, only where’s the fun in that?

Well now you can relive the days, and have something actually useful at the end of it. This DIY USB Tetris Lamp comes in all the familiar block shapes you know and love, which you can assemble to create your own custom LED lamp. The cool thing is the blocks won’t light up until connected, so you get to play light master as you assemble.

The other cool thing is you can change your mind as often as you like, and swap pieces around to get different shapes, and you won’t lose the game and look like a total dufus. You’ll just look creative instead. We think a room with one of these and an old/new Lava lamp would be just about the perfect retro heaven. Priced at $35.

By the way, if you’re still keen to play the game on your computer, here’s the online Flash version.
