DUBS – the earplugs that turn the volume down on the world

DUBS in use

If your life involves a great deal of noise, then you’re probably familiar with earplugs. They’re usually made of foam and you shove them in your ears to protect your hearing from noise. If you’re tired of that low tech safety solution check out DUBS, the 2.0 version of earplugs.

DUBS are designed to filter sound so you get the good parts while buffering out the bits that will leave you saying “What?” whenever someone tries to talk to you. Instead of just muffling all sound indiscriminately, these use a system of high and low pass filters that just lower the volume while still keeping the audio clear.

They’re made to fit most adults over the age of 16 and sit flush against the ear, not shoved into the ear canal. They’re made out of high quality materials and meant to last so they can be worn day in and day out. They come in four different colors, teal, blue, pink, and white and each set comes with a hard case so they can be carried anywhere. DUBS cost $25.
