DuoSkin – put your tattoos to work for you

DuoSkin

Body art isn’t accepted by everyone and some people think that’s worthless. They might change their opinion when they see someone using their skin decoration to control their computer. DuoSkin is the “tattoo” that lets you create and control devices by touching your own skin.

So, first and foremost this isn’t really a tattoo, even though it’s been likened to such. There are no needles and nothing is being injected into the skin (yet, who knows what the cyberpunk dystopia holds for us) and is instead a temporary tattoo that looks a bit like jewelry. These are made from gold metal leaf and are stuck on the skin.

The technology is really new and uses for it are still being discovered but so far you can use it to turn your arm into a track pad, pull data from the tattoo or just use it for purely aesthetic purposes. Unlike some of the tech we’ve seen that blurs the line between man and machine, this one is only temporary. Check out the MIT website for more info on this.
