Scientists at Penn State University have managed to develop a system to charge an electric vehicle in ten minutes. That’s a significant drop in time! This system also does not run down the battery life, another concern with electric vehicles.

The new batteries would operate for a very short period time at a higher temperature than conventional batteries. This allows them to charge faster and last. This is something that you should try to do at your home and has only been achieved in a control environment so far. Still, if it proves successful and can be scaled up, electric cars may be set to drive right over their next hurdle to the mainstream.
