Emissions are caused by many, many things in our everyday lives. Some more than others. One of the surprising places we’re creating them? Our household heating. In order to meat carbon goals, the UK needs to address gas use for home heating purposes.
It has been proposed that new homes are built with more efficient systems but this doesn’t do anything to help existing properties. For this, improvements need to be made to homes as well as taking advantage of the new devices that are made to monitor heating with less loss.
One other thing to be cognizant of is that older homes are far less efficient at holding heat than newer ones. Adding insulation, changing windows and other common things will help to bridge the gap and encourage less loss.
