Eneloop Music Booster – Backup power for musicians

Image

Sanyo’s been busy expanding their Eneloop rechargeable battery line, including this Eneloop Music Booster which is perfect for musicians – pro and aspiring alike. Aimed at musicians who use AC adapters to power their effects pedals, amplifiers, mixers, and other gadgets on stage, the Music Booster has a built-in, high capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can be used in places without power.

Along with this, the Booster can power two 9-volt devices simultaneously, has an LED power indicator. It’s green when the power level is above 60%, orange when it drops below that and turns red when it hits 30%. The Music Booster will be featured in January 2010 at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show, the biggest musical instrument show in the world.

Many music devices, including effects units, amps, graphic equalizers, and multitrack recorders operate using a 9-volt DC power source. An AC adapter or 9V dry-cell battery (9V laminated batteries) is usually used to power these types of music equipment. However AC adapters cannot be used in locations without electrical outlets, and nearby electrical equipment may cause noise interference. In the case of 9V batteries, stage musicians often need to replace the batteries before they are actually exhausted, in order to prevent any disruption during a performance.
