EyeOS 1.0 – the operating system comes to the browser

Eyeos

The new EyeOS 1.0 is being billed as an Open Source ‘web operating system’, which means that you can install applications, tweak settings and do a whole passel of O/S type things just using your web browser. The technology is all very innovative, but will it really deliver some compelling new experience, or is it just another online desktop alternative? Only time will tell. In the meantime take a look for yourself and let me know what you think. I’m not fully ‘getting it’ yet and that worries me.

In first place, welcome to the eyeOS project. You’re about to discover a new work and organization method: A completely free (Open Source) Web Operating System running from your browser, where anybody can collaborate and expand it. If you want to see how is eyeOS, you can visit the screenshots section, or if you prefer it, watch the video from this page.
