Facebook App Cleanup – follow this step by step to clean up your app permissions

Facebook has been much talked about in the last few days as news of a pretty substantial data mining operation broke. You probably read about it. If you’re not ready to delete your account yet (no judgement here), you might want to check to see what apps have access at the very least. This handy how to walks you through the process.

Did anyone else notice that throughout the years, accessing anything other than your newsfeed on Facebook has gotten more and more obscure? When was the last time you saw the log out button? Can’t remember huh? Because we never log out. We’re always on. Well the settings button is right above that.

This article walks you through the process of seeing what apps you have given permission to, what those permissions are and editing or deleting them as needed. I had 72 apps with permissions. I knew what almost all of them were though. Follow the screenshots on the website to clean up your app permissions.
