Factitious – how well do you know news

Just so we’re clear, the Red Ferret is not FAKE NEWS. We’re real. But you may find yourself struggling with false or satire headlines. If you’ve ever wondered how well you know your internet news stuff, check out Factitious, the little game that will test your news sense.

This game is super simple. It shows you a news story and then you just swipe right if it is real and swipe left if it is fake (or click the checkmark for real and the x for fake if using a computer). Once you’ve made your selection, the site will let you know if you were right and give you helpful hints on spotting fake news or how to look up suspicious or very skewed reports for accuracy.

This is a handy tool that can help people learn how to spot credible stories from false ones. Some reports included in the tests were obviously real while others were obviously very fake (though hilarious). Others may give some users pause. You can check out this tool for free.
