Fastbrick Robotics – the bricklaying, full size “3D Printer”

Fastbrick Robotics

Building a house or other complex structure is a lot of time and work. Many laborers and machines are needed to construct the finished product as well as at least a few weeks. Unless you use Fastbrick Robotics, the company that can put out a building in days using one machine.

This handy robot is like a brick laying 3D printer. It uses a laser guided system to lay out buildings developed in SOLIDWORKS. Designers plot out the building using the 3D design software and then the robot lays it all out, brick by brick.

The system is fast, taking only a couple of days to accomplish what traditional builders would take weeks to make. Although marketed for commercial purposes, this would be an awesome innovation to use in disaster relief where many homes need to be built quickly to accommodate displaced people. Waste from using this process is minimal and it can work night and day with no overtime hours needed. Check out the website for more information. Watch the video below to see it in action.
