Film Trust. Collaborative, social networked movie recommendations/ratings on tap. Not exactly new, but maybe worth a look see?

 FilmTrust is designed to take advantage of your social connections to improve the way you look at movies. You can see personalized movie ratings, reviews sorted so you see the most relevant ones first, and you can help influence what your friends see

  • YASN? Scalability will likely be a problem, should they be fortunate enough to get that far. I linked to it but will wait and see before joining, a problematic atttitude for such enterprises. Did you join Red?

  • No Andi, I didn’t join up. I’m still wedded to MovieLens, so until I see something that adds better value I don’t think I’ll change. :-)

  • hmmm… MovieLens looks interesting and The University of Minnesota seems less mysterious than FilmTrust though a little exploration reveals that FilmTrust is connected to the University of Maryland–another U of M.

    The root directory there is interesting too… http://trust.mindswap.org/ Maybe I’ll look a little deeper into this too.

  • A name on the site – Jennifer Golbeck ? Any more info? Looks like a research project of some sort, kind of like MovieLens?
