Fire alarm alarm.

Deafgardfirealarmwarning

The DeafGard Fire Alarm Warning System. Peace of mind for the profoundly deaf when they’re travelling in hotels or even at home. The unit uses an acoustically triggered pillow vibration and strobe light alarm to indicate the presence of a conventional fire alarm bell or signal. Clever tech indeed. Oh, and it’s also a vibrating alarm clock. £185.25.

The connected vibrator pad is placed under the pillow. When the Deafgard unit hears the fire alarm the under-pillow pad vibrates waking the sleeper, whilst the activated flashing strobe and LCD provides the complementary visual indicator. The result is an immediate and effective motion and visual trigger, which signals that the fire alarm is sounding, allowing the individual to leave the building to a place of safety.
