Flauntr – probably the most comprehensive photo editing service on the web

Flauntr

Flauntr is just about the most ambitious photo manipulation site out there, headquartered in Switzerland and engineered in India. We’re talking a range of free web applications which let you add artistic effects, do basic editing like red-eye removal etc and even format images for your chosen upload service like Flickr, Bebo or MySpace. The tools are fast to use and the results are excellent, although the major drawback is a lack of a stepped undo, which means that you can only reset the photo back to the original and start again if you don’t like a particular result after a number of editing steps. There’s also no granularity offered in the effects, they’re just on or off. But hey, did we mention that it’s free?

Despite these small points it’s a very nice product and one that deserves to get some traction. The UI is great and it’s really easy to use, which is perfect for digital photography newcomers who often find photo editing to be a rather daunting affair. There are three applications at the moment, and another three are due to arrive later this month, so take a look and see what you think. We’re impressed.

Its a creative suite of free online applications – primarily addressed at allowing people to do creative stuff with their photos, without having to know heavy duty software, or buy expensive tools. It aims to allow people to be creative without having to learn tools, and hopefully make image editing and styling an everyday fun affair. There are already three applications released – photoeditR , photostylR and photoprofilR. Three more applications are due to release this month, including photoprintR which allows people to print out their creations onto real life objects.
