Solar panels are, well, panels but what if they were more like fabric? A new type of solar sheet developed by the company, Solivus, is thin, flexible and can be attached to just about anything giving a variety of structures their own renewable energy option without major installation needed.

The new, thin, material can be attached to large industrial buildings with glue. They can be bent or curved to shape so they can be applied to spaces that previously could not support solar panels. The energy they generate can be stored in batteries or electric vehicles directly for use.

Homes can be outfitted with standalone units that basically perform the same function. The sheets are as efficient as conventional panels while being thinner and more readily installed. They’re still testing them out but if they prove to hold up, they could expand solar installation and use.
