You can never have too many free photos available for your projects, which probably explains the growing number of sites dedicated to delivering images for our greedy eyes. Most of these offer pretty limited or standardized collections, but there are some which seem to produce something a little different.
Freedigitalphotos.net is a site which seems to have a collection which goes beyond the typical stuff. There is a catch though, in that the free images are all maximum 400 pixels wide, which if fine for a lot of web work, but if you want something larger you’re going to have to pay (or visit free sites like Sxc.hu or morguefile.com which do offer larger).
You’ll also need to add an attribution in the correct format (e.g. for the above tiger it would be – Image courtesy of anankkml / FreeDigitalPhotos.net) in order to avoid paying. The real problem with the site, however, is the fact that the larger images are very expensive when compared to alternative commercial royalty free image sites. Still it’s probably worth adding this to the list or resources in case you can’t find what you want elsewhere.
