Free Hi-Q Recorder – free sound recording program converts streaming audio into MP3s

Freehiqrecorder

Free Hi-Q Recorder records streaming audio into MP3 files. It works on both Mac and PC and also doubles up as an MP3 player and ringtone maker. This free version only records to a constant rate 96 kbps stereo MP3 format, if you want higher resolution, or recording to WAV, OGG, WMA and VBR you’ll need to stump up the $29.95 upgrade fee for the Easy Hi-Q Recorder product. Nevertheless this is still a rather awesome tool for audiophiles everywhere.

Record streaming Internet audio or video broadcasts or webcasts of any kind, whether it’s news, sports, music, talk radio or any other format, (records audio only). Record audio or video sounds from DVD, Windows Media Player, RealOne Player, Winamp, QuickTime or any other media player, games, Midi, Software Synthesizer, etc. Convert, (record), LP’s, any records, tapes, CD’s, radio, DAT, Mini-Disc, video tape sounds, T.V. sounds, video games, telephone, microphone or from any other external device. Record satellite radio, XM or Sirius…
