Do you like art? Do you like free art? Then have we got some great news for you! The British Library has just posted one million public domain images for all your artsy delight on their Flickr account.
Recently we’ve seen a host of museums and libraries share their public domain images online. Thanks to the magic of technology, you can now get access to millions of images of art work, illustrations, maps, etc. It’s a great time to be alive.
This collection from the British Library includes a host of images. They’re mostly illustrations from books. Some are close up details of things like botanical illustrations, tools, and scenery. Others are simply clips of decorative letters. There are color illustrations as well as black and white. Maps of all kinds are also included. They are posted in separate albums to make viewing and location of topics easier but you’re still dealing with a great deal of free images. This is great news for artist and crafty people alike. Check out the Flickr account and enjoy!
