Free Video to JPG Converter – grab still images from your video with a click [Freeware]

freevideotojpg

Have you ever wished you could grab a quick image from one of your videos quickly and easily. Sure you can do a screen grab, but it’s cumbersome and not always that successful. Well now there’s a better way…and it’s free of charge to boot.

The Free Video to JPG Converter program is short sweet and simple. Just add the video file (or files) you want to grab the frames from, select the frames you want (e.g. every x frames, every x seconds or a total of x frames from the whole video) and press the Convert button. That’s it.

The software then scans through the video and plucks out, as if by magic, the frames you desire for your further editing pleasure or enjoyment. It obviously can take some trial and error to grab an exact frame as an image, but if you run through the video and work out the time of the desired frame, then it’s fairly easy to set up a timer to select the image from that particular second.

The quality of the images is pretty good considering, but do be aware that if you set the program to capture ‘every’ frame, then you’re going to need enough disc space to hold the results. One final word on the developers. DVDVideosoftware provide some good tools, but we’ve found their installation routine to be a little invasive in terms of extra items they try and get you to install. So just watch out on install if you don’t fancy the extra tools they offer.
