FrostWire is a cool freeware program for sharing files with your nearest and dearest. Or indeed other people. Based around the original Limewire code and firmly wedded to Open Source principles, this new product still centers around the Gnutella protocols, but adds in some super new sauce to make it even more useful.
Like the ‘Automatically Add to iTunes’ feature which adds downloaded tracks to your iTunes account without you having to lift a finger. Neat.
FrostWire, a Gnutella Peer-to-Peer client, is a collaborative effort from many Open Source and freelance developers from all around the world. In late 2005, concerned developers of LimeWire’s open source community announced the start of a new project fork “FrostWire” that would protect the developmental source code of the LimeWire client and any improvements to the Gnutella protocol design.
