If you have an iPad, you’ve no doubt found dozens of uses for it. Browsing the web, reading eBooks, jotting notes, watching movies and more. But have you� ever tried using it as a cat toy? Probably not, since most rational people don’t want to take a $500+ device and unleash their pet upon it. Well if you’re a brave soul, you can do just that with the Game for Cats app.

The app is rather simple, you can choose from a mouse or laser pointer. The laser pointer game is free, while you’ll have to pay $.99 to unlock the mouse one. Other than that, the app is rather simple. The pointer or mouse moves around on the screen, and your cat will try to paw at it. There is even a scoreboard to let you know how many times your feline friend was able to hit the target.

My cat has no front claws, so I set her loose on the free version of the app. She’s been enamored with it for the last 20 minutes or so, and managed to hit the pointer 9 times. She seems to spend most of the time simply watching the pointer move around. I think I still prefer using an actual laser pointer, rather than my expensive tablet.
