There’s no shortage of technology out there which is designed to help golfers improve their skills. But most of it seems to be focused on getting your swing working or stuff like that, which is why the new Game Golf kit seems so interesting.
Instead of watching you real time, the system uses club tags and a GPS enabled sensor to track your whole round as it happens. Then once you’ve finished you can review how you did, and compare it to the pros. Yes that’ll definitely be depressing, but what it does is show which line you should have used, and even how far away from their club choice you were.
The cool thing about the product is the fact that it overlays everything on top of an aerial view of the course, which makes it that much more accessible, and because each hole comes with a bunch of stats, you can really learn about your strengths and weaknesses in a clear way. If you notice that you’re always losing a lot of shots on short holes, you can work out pretty quickly that your short game needs work, and get on it. Interesting. The system costs $249, which is not bad when you consider how annoying golf can be on a bad day. What price freedom from embarrassment, eh?
