Google Employees Call For Change – request zero emissions and cut ties with climate deniers

Google has recently joined the ranks of companies whose employees are asking them to do better for the climate. More than 1k workers signed a public letter asking that the tech giant make more aggressive steps to mitigate their hand in climate change and to end partnerships with climate denying groups.

Microsoft and Amazon employees took similar actions against their employer a bit over a month ago. Google is a carbon neutral company and has been using renewable energy for all of its operations, which is great! It’s funding and partnering with groups dead set on fighting against climate policy is not.

Climate neutral is no the same as zero emissions. The letter calls for zero by 2030 and the end of the partnerships. This sort of employee activism is meant to incite change in large corporations from inside through direct action.
