Gudak – turn your phone’s camera into a film camera, sort of

Take a picture, you see it instantly. Not like back in the day where you had to wait until after your vacation to see how things developed. The Gudak app gives your phone’s camera that pre-digital functionality by making you wait days to see your photo.

With this app you take photos in the normal way but you don’t get to see them right away. They’re delayed for a few days so you can’t just snap and delete until you get the perfect shot. You can’t instant share either. The idea is that by doing this, you’ll cherish the photos more for what they are: A moment in time you can’t get back.

It’s one of those “reclaim a life before modern times” technology and it’s pretty neat. Just like film cameras, you have a finite number of photos you can take, only 24 shots in 12 hours, and it will take three days before you can see them. By the time you do, maybe you’ve already forgotten it which would be a nice surprise! You can download the app in the App store, this is unfortunately only for Apple devices and costs $.99.
