Gumroad makes selling your stuff as easy as sharing a link

If you’ve ever considered selling your digital stuff like music, e-books etc online, you’ve probably come up against the problem of how to deliver your product after purchase. Sure you can use the major outlets like eBay, Craigslist or Gumtree to advertise but they’re not really set up to let your customers download or access stuff immediately after payment, which makes the whole process a bit cumbersome. Not only that, but there’s the fact that you have to use standard shop or classified page to display your wares, which can be restrictive.

Now there’s a new option with Gumroad, which is a deceptively simple service for selling things like music tracks, e-books, or any kind of digital content online. All you have to do is to upload your file (or give the system a URL to find it), add a description and a price and you’re good to go. You’ll immediately get a link you can distribute to anyone (or even add to your Craigslist advert etc) and when they click it, they’ll go to the shopping cart where they can buy and download immediately.

All of the shopping cart stuff, the payment processing and admin is done by the system automatically, so you don’t have to do anything else except collect the cash. Here’s a link to a very nice photo I took which I’m selling for £1 – . It’s incredibly easy to use and could be incredibly useful for musicians, artists, writers and even game makers who want to sell stuff themselves without tying their profits to iTunes, Amazon or the Android market.
