There are probably huge landfills filled with old computer parts dotted across the globe, and let’s face it, most people probably have at least one old system stashed away somewhere. They’re one of those things that over time just lose their usefulness, eventually you have to scrap the whole thing and start over. But this Etsy shop is turning some of those old parts into useful household items. The Computer Hard Drive Desk Clock may not be able to run your spreadsheets and videos, but at least it can keep time.
This nifty little clock is perfect for the engineer in your life. If the engineer in your life is you, well then, treat yo’ self. The clock is made from upcycled (this is a fun word that means to turn what would be trash into a useful product, work it into a conversation soon) hard drive and clock parts and runs on AA batteries. There are no numbers on the clock face (which is basically just the hard disk platter) so you’ve just got to know how to read an analogue clock. A dying art I’m sure. Each piece is handmade and one of a kind. The Computer Hard Drive Desk Clock is $35.
