Handy Sana 210 – the doctor in your pocket

Handysana

This Handy Sana 210 is a mobile phone based healthcare system which is designed to provide ‘doctor in the pocket’ type health monitoring on tap. The Heart Suite software that comes with the system can take ECG readings, and the system also offers access to blood pressure, blood glucose and other important health indicators.

The handset itself sports a 2.8 inch touchscreen, Internet browser, 1.3 camera and microSD storage, and the whole kit is tied together with a 24 hour response service via SMS, as well as a ‘global physician network’, whatever that means. Price is unknown right now, but apparently it will be in line with current smartphone levels.

The user needs only to press two fingers on the phone’s edges for 30 seconds for the phone to pick up, record and save their ECG reading wich can then be transmitted from the mobile phone to the doctor. Additionally they can record and save other data such as blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol. The recorded information and data are transmitted from the phone to a specific medical center for interpretation and monitoring by a staff of expert cardiologists that will then advise the patient immediately if their condition requires immediate attention or not.
