Help Alerter – lets everyone know you need help

Image

Your car’s broken down in the middle of nowhere, mobile phone has no service or the battery is flat, it’s dark and there are no street lights. How do you flag someone down and get help without getting run over? You could try the Help Alerter, a flashing LED “Help” sign hidden by the car number plate.

Controlled by a remote switch in the driver’s footwell, the Help Alerter has its own power supply to ensure it works even when the car doesn’t. May come in handy when you’re car-jacked or there’s a bomb on the bus and you can’t drop below 50. Unfortunately the website has everything except the price and where to buy one but you could always email them.

In many situations, standing alongside your vehicle to flag down help can be just too dangerous. There are times and places where even cell phones will not work. So for cautious drivers who want to be prepared for any occasion – vehicle breakdown or car break down, medical condition, or even a carjacking – the Help Alerter has been developed to catch the eye of potential good Samaritans.

  • Just don't stop to help if you see one of these on a deserted highway. Just drive on and call the highway patrol or police and let them know where the stricken vehicle is. Unless, of course, the vehicle with the sign is on fire.

    • If the car's on fire sirron, it's a pretty small window for someone to see it.
      I'm just saying.
