Is the future self driving cars? The jury’s still out on that because, well, it’s more complicated then science fiction would have you believe. Not the technology so much, the ethical questions about it all. Anyway, that’s not what the HERE AR City Model app is about, this app just shows you what it would be like experience automated driving with a living map.

It uses a paper map that you print yourself and the VR capabilities on your phone or tablet. The model city is San Francisco because of course it is. The app lets you explore automated driving and software that supports it, specifically the map portion of it.

It’s a neat exploration of the future. Does it have applications to your everyday life? Probably not. Will you play with it for a few minutes and then uninstall? Probably. Still if you’re curious about automated driving, you can check out this app for free in the Play Store.
