This IDE to SD Card Adapter is a pretty cool way to embed an SD slot into your PC to read all those camera cards and stuff. You can even boot the system from the SD card if it has the relevant O/S on it. No drivers needed, the host simply sees the memory card as an IDE drive. Fantastico, eh?Terribly geek of course, but we still love it. $24.99.
The IDE To SD (MMC) / MS adapter is an adapter for connecting a SD/MMC memory card to a 2.5″ or 3.5″ IDE host interface, aiming at educational sectors, IT development, and the embedded technology enthusiast to enable the use of a SD(MMC)/MS card as an IDE hard drive. SD(MMC)/MS disks offer the benefit of low power consumption, low operating temperature, no acoustic noise, shock resistance, and fast read access time. The IDE To SD (MMC) / MS adapter is transparent to the operating system and does not require any drivers.
Now if I could just get the EXACT reverse of this, I’d love to use a hdd in some of my SD applications!
Hmm.. can you image a hard disk drive to a SD card? I think I’ll use it if it supports SDHC.
