Insects Are In Trouble – mass die offs of bugs is bad news

Lots of people don’t like insects. We spend a lot of time getting rid of them but we need to change that. Our lives and the lives of insects are locked together and although massive die offs might sound nice, it’s a real problem that we need to help solve.

This issue is caused by large scale practices like the use of pesticides but also our personal choices like removing dead vegetation and mowing our lawns. Also insects are often overlooked in conservation efforts despite their importance. Probably because they freak a lot of people out.

If you want to help the problem then plant an insect friendly garden, rethink using any sort of pesticides on your own lawn. If everyone works on these smaller steps, a real difference can be made.
