This IRIS Video Conferencing System seems like a nifty idea, an eye contact oriented webcam device which bolts onto your computer and uses a system of mirrors to let you focus (!) on your screen and the remote speaker at the same time. Hmm…but maybe we’re missing something here?
Don’t most modern laptops come with cameras in their screen bezel, or is that not enough? And what happens when you have to look down to type during the web call, surely that defeats the purpose? Anyway we’re kvetching unnecessarily, so we’ll just leave it be and tell you that the price starts at €1845.00 a unit. Yeah…
The best desktop alternative to video conferencing # for every web conferencing and video chat program # high grade picture and sound quality # easily connected to any pc or laptop # even works if the others do not have IRIS
I think it is a business application. Not directly for video chat but more for using with skype. Then I agree eye contact is need. On their website they mention remote sales and contact centers. If you compare it with video conferincing equipment the price is moderate.
