Julia Alice Chappell – whimsical sculptures made from tech waste

Technology waste doesn’t do so hot when it comes to life after it’s useful. Sometimes you’ve got to think outside of the box though and well, everything can be art. Julia Alice Chappell uses discarded electronics, particularly circuit boards, to create stunning insect sculptures.

Although some electronics see a second life through various scrapping initiatives, that’s not the case for many of them and they end up in the trash. These components have interesting shapes and colors and the artist’s mind, they become the whimsical forms you see before you.

An amazing project that bridges the natural world and the man made one and although there’s a lot of whimsy in her creations, the project also makes you think about the effect we have on our world. The sculptures are for sale, inquire directly with the artist.
