KaffeeForm – the coffee cups made from coffee grounds

Coffee grounds are great for throwing in your garden and also, as it turns out, for making coffee cups. Kaffeeform is the startup that turns used coffee grounds into reusable coffee cups. So you can have your coffee from a cup made out of coffee.

The idea is to combat waste. The grounds aren’t really the issue, as said before, they can easily be composted. The issue is the cups. Disposable coffee cups end up in landfills where they sit for years. These cups are biodegradable when they’re ready to meet their end.

The cups are made from grounds, wood, and natural resins. It takes a few cups of grounds per a single cup and the company works with local shops to source their grounds. Although this start up is small, it’s a very nice little loop and a handful of shops use their mugs for their business. Kaffeeform in Berlin based.
