KeePass – free password management with super strong encryption

KeePass is a free password management program which, if you’re anything like me, you’ll welcome with open arms. How on earth are we supposed to keep track of all this stuff? Oh yeah and make sure that we’re not repeating passwords everywhere. Insane.

The worse thing is this stupid new VISA Authenticated rubbish. So now when I shop online with a credit card, not only do I have to remember passwords, PIN numbers, memorable places/dates, the security number and my great aunt’s cousin’s maiden name but I also have to come up with yet another memorable number to prove it’s my card. And not write any of it down anywhere. Yeah right.

OK, rant over. So this is a pretty useful bit of software if you want to cheat and keep things in one place so you’ve got a chance of remembering all the stuff you need to sign into various sites and services.

KeePass is a free open source password manager, which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key file. So you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).
