Kevlar Survival Cord could save you in a pinch

Being stuck out in the wild would be a terrifying thing for most of us. The thought of having to scrounge for food, water, and shelter would be quite a daunting task. Sometimes the things we take for granted are suddenly needed, and if you’re stuck unprepared, you could be in a rather tough situation pretty quick.

However, should you have a little grab bag at the ready, it will be difficult to catch you off guard. One of the more important things you might need would be some kind of rope. If you need to lower yourself, food, or water down from somewhere, it’s going to have to be pretty strong to boot. The only problem is that you can’t exactly carry around heavy duty rope all the time. You can however tote around the Kevlar Survival Cord. This thread-thin cord can hold up to 200 pounds, and only costs $7 for 25 feet of it. In other words, what are you waiting for?

  • I carry a 200 foot length of braided paracord in my backpack. It's much less expensive than the kevlar line and has the advantage of being safe for lifting humans. I can see number of uses for the kevlar line, but lifting humans is not one of them.

  • Amsteel Blue, anyone?
