Kickstand desk lets you bike while you work

If you’re reading this on your computer, there’s a good chance that you’re sitting at a desk. There’s also a pretty good chance that you spend a good bit of time in that very chair. Spending most of your time sitting down is not the most beneficial thing for your health, which is why there is currently a craze involving standing desks. That’s right, desks that make you stand around all day, instead of sit. Some of them even feature treadmills that force you to jog now and then. But here’s a really strange idea for a desk from Kickstand Furniture.

The Kickstand is a desk that is designed to be used with a bike. Just bring in your favorite two-wheeler, and get it attached to the stand. Climb on, and start working. You aren’t forced to pedal, so you can do it at your own leisure. The top of the desk even slides back to allow you to reach the shifters if you need to adjust them. While it’s an interesting concept, I doubt you’ll be able to justify the $1,990 cost to your boss.

  • A tall desk coupled with a resistance trainer would cost a lot less if you bought them on their own.

And a full work shift on a bike saddle without padded shorts? Owwww!!!

  • The main problem I see (at least for guys) is that sitting on a bide saddle for extended periods of time can make for numbness in the frank & beans department.

  • @Chris: I'd just expense my therapy trips to the whorehouse.
