You when technology has started getting out of hand when your toilet seat gets smarter than the old desktop PC in your attic. So it is with this new product from US company Kohler. The Kohler Purefresh is a toilet seat with a difference. It’s got a full blown air purifier inside it.

That’s right, the product comes with a carbon filter and a fan which activates when the user… er… sits down. At which point a gentle waft of air is pushed over a ‘scent pack’ to deliver a nice smell to the smallest room in the house. How perfect is that? All homes should have one of these we’re thinking.

You can choose from three different smells, waterfall, fresh laundry and avocado spa, whatever that is. The thought of making your toilet smell like a guacamole dip doesn’t inspire a huge amount of confidence, but then again maybe we’re being picky. The scent packs last for a month, and are easy to replace, and the whole shebang runs on 2 D batteries (which will work for 6 months).

As if that isn’t enough, the toilet seat also features a handy dual LED night light for added um safety. The product retails for $119.95.
