Going out and buying yourself a cool new 3D printer is so last year. What you absolutely have to do nowadays to stay cool is go out and build your own 3D printer. Or at least buy the parts and then assemble the thing on your kitchen table. For the cred.
This Kossel Mini DIY 3D Printer is designed to let you do just that thing. The whole kit comes complete with the parts, screws, wiring etc to make your own printer, and in fact you don’t even have to do any soldering, since all the wiring is push fit easy.
The finished product may not be the prettiest sight in the world, but it should deliver you a 3D printout at a speed of 60mm / sec and give you a result which will be a maximum of 17 cm in diameter and 24 cm high. Which sounds decent to us.
The kit ships with an Arduino Mega compatible board, an LCD monitor and SD card reader so you can plug your designs in directly. Or you can hook it up to a laptop via a USB cable and do things that way. You can find all manuals and stuff right here. Priced at $580 complete.
