There’s a plethora – our new word for the day – of food-toting transporters that can help keep food and drinks cold while out and about but eating a hot meal on the go usually requires a pit stop at a microwave. Not anymore.
The Lava Lunch Heated Lunch Box might look like any other collapsible lunch box on the market these days but it’s different from the rest because of the organic, plant-based lava rock inserts designed to absorb heat from your microwave and release stored energy as the contents of the bag begin to cool.
Made of a proprietary, insulated neoprene-like material, the bag itself comes in a variety of colors and is collapsible for easier transport, although it doesn’t fold completely flat because of the added insulation.
Also, if you don’t have a microwave, and we suppose there might still be a few hold-outs resisting this fad out there – the lava rock inserts can be heated up in a traditional oven.
For $29.95, you can get a Lava Lunch in Black, Orange, Blueberry, or Lemon Lime.
