LEGO Braille Bricks – new blocks will help people learn braille

LEGO, as a company is always doing something to enrich the lives of others. This time it’s creating blocks to help teach people how to read braille. The little blocks won’t be able to be used to build a spaceship but you will be able to build sentences and hopefully, pick up the language.

As it turns out, thanks to technology, less people are learning how to read braille which is to say that this skill is going the way of the dinosaur. This is a real shame because unlike cursive, there are are times when reading braille would likely come in handy. The hope is that the blocks, being toys, will encourage learners to interact with them and revitalize the language.

They will come in sets that contain 250 bricks which will include the full alphabet, numbers, and math symbols. Each block also has printed letters and numbers for sighted people. The blocks will be released in 2020.
