I’ve never messed with putting up Christmas lights on any of the places I’ve lived. This has a lot to do with the fact that I’ve mostly lived in apartments, and the fact that I can be really lazy. I’ll be honest, spending a couple of hours on a ladder in the freezing cold just so I can get a higher electric bill isn’t my idea of fun. Instead, I just admire other peoples’ handiwork. For those of you that do take the time every year to hang a bunch of lights, you might be interested in something called the LiteLocker.
LiteLocker is a container that hangs just below the edge of your roof. When opened, a set of lights hang down for all to see. When closed, it looks like just another part of your house. Look at the pictures above. The container really does blend in quite well. The best part is that using a special tool, you can actually open it from the ground. A starter kit will set you back $70 and gives you 24-feet worth of container (including lights) which is broken up into 4-foot sections. Pricey, yes. Worth it? Depends on how much you hate hanging those lights.
State of the Arc technology at it's best!
This is a great solution for a non problem from the last century! And these days who would want to invest in expensive / unreliable / obsolete filament bulbs? LED lights are now the standard and are much smaller, so this huge box section gizmo is just too clunky. Maybe the US is behind in these things?
Wow, thats extremely tacky.
