Litter Robot – the moon lander for cats

Litterrobot

The Litter Robot. Cat comes home after hard day’s work digging holes. Discovers Martian spacecraft in hallway. Enraged, it savages the housekeeper and elopes with next door’s gerbil. The End. $299.00.

Save time and money with this automatic self-cleaning litter box. Its patented sifting process thoroughly cleans the litter bed automatically after each use, and its large capacity is ideal for multiple cats–up to four cats per unit. When the cat enters the globe-shaped litter chamber, a weight-activated sensor detects the presence of the animal. After seven minutes, a clean cycle starts with the slow rotation of the globe in a counter-clockwise direction. The rotation of the globe sifts and separates clumps from the clean clumping litter and deposits all waste in the large-capacity drawer

  • these things are for humans, not for cats. you’re actually doing your cats a great disservice. cats are experts at hiding symptoms of illness. the only way to catch something early is by scooping a litter box & being aware of a cats waste habits. Don’t treat your cats like furniture.

  • Actually, I have the Litter Robot. As for the comment about being able to see the litter to observe symptoms of illness, not an issue with this litter box. The L’bot sifts the clean litter and deposits the waste in the drawer below. I can now get a better view than ever, when I’m ready to flush it. (the only problem is knowing which of them is connected to the unhealthy litter, if that were to happen. But that’s an issue with any box.)

Unlike other automatic litter boxes, you don’t have to buy extra “supplies”. If you like, you can use plastic bags in the waste drawer (8 or 13 gal. from the grocery). Since I use flushable litter made from corn (“World’s Best” brand), I only need a bag if I’m changing the whole box. (something I need to do less with the automatic litter box).

The biggest issue was getting them to use it. I recommend leaving their old box uncleaned (gross, I know) and only turning the L’bot on once a day to clean it, at least until they’re not scared of it. Leaving it on automatic before they’ve adjusted to the process, will freak the kitties out a bit.

Unlike other automatic boxes with “rakes”, since it sifts, I’ve never had it clog. It’s pricey, but you save money on not wasting litter or buying extra supplies.

This is perfect for a cat-lover who is physically challenged.
