Mapping the Greenhouse Gases – new satellite will give new view of atmosphere

We’ll have a new idea of the planet’s greenhouse effect in the coming years. A new satellite is being launched by Europe that will be able to look at the long wavelength portion of the electromagnetic spectrum which may lead to new data about our warming planet.

This is not something that has been looked at existentially in the past due to the limits of technology but with new advancements, scientists can finally look into this part of the picture. This will allow them to really see how certain gases are reacting in our atmosphere.

Although this may not be as exciting as on the ground efforts, having more knowledge in hand about our planet and what we’re doing to it will help us make better choices in the future.
