Metatogger is a brilliant freeware program which automagically identifies and tags your music tracks in a variety of formats including OGG and MP3. We all have tracks which we’ve ripped or copied over clumsily without proper tags, and they’re a right pain when it comes to playing on phones or MP3 players because the player can’t identify the genre, name etc.
Well now that problem is solved. Metatogger is incredibly efficient at identifying tracks, either via the MusicBrainz database, or through making an educated guess based on your filename. The weird thing is how well this works. I ran through a motley collection of 130 tracks and had them all up and running with functioning tags in minutes, including a few I had to complete by hand because they were too obscure for the automated function.
It’s fast, clever, and ever so useful. Brilliant! A keeper.
MetatOGGer can rename, tag and easily classify files Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Speex, MP3, Musepack, Windows Media, WavPack and Monkey’s Audio. MetatOGGer is the first tag editor that has a vector-based interface on Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
